Dr. Arianne Herrera-Bennett
Ph.D. Research Psychology (Quantitative Methods)
I am a quantitative researcher passionate about meta-research, looking to move into industry. My work has two core themes: Understanding replicability and improving how we draw inferences from data.
I believe that effective research and data analytics are a combination of macro and micro perspectives. My goal is to couple elements of frontend design with statistical techniques, in order to solve complex challenges.

Meta-Research.
My research explores best research practices, and investigates how current or novel methodologies / analyses can be developed and improved. In addition, my work has had two core themes: understanding research replicability, and improving how individuals draw statistical inferences from data. To explore these themes, I'll sometimes use simulated data or draw from real-world data (e.g., reanalyzing or resampling from online data sets). Other times, I will collect new data myself (e.g., online surveys, lab-based experimental designs, or high-powered replication studies). My research aims at better understanding how best to conduct research and interpret data. In this way, my direct users are researchers (like myself) and, more broadly, producers and consumers of scientific knowledge (such as learners, practitioners, or the general scientific community).
